Legal Name
Export Field: LEGAL_NAME
The official legal business name of the motor carrier, as registered with the FMCSA. It is displayed as-is in the DotView.io interface, and is used for compliance and legal tracking purposes.
Display Name
Export Field: DISPLAY_LEGAL_NAME
The version of the carrier name shown in the DotView.io. While often identical to the FMCSA 'Legal Name', this may be normalized for better readability and user experience in search results or listings.
Physical Street
Export Field: PHY_STREET
The street address of the carrier’s main place of business. Comes directly from the FMCSA export and is shown in the site with no changes.
Physical City
Export Field: PHY_CITY
The city in which the carrier’s main operations are physically located. This field is used as-is from FMCSA data in both site and export.
Physical State
Export Field: PHY_STATE
The state (e.g., TX, CA, NY) corresponding to the carrier’s physical address. Identical in both FMCSA export and the site.
Physical ZIP
Export Field: PHY_ZIP
The ZIP code for the carrier’s physical address. Exported directly from FMCSA and used unchanged in the site.
Physical Country
Export Field: PHY_COUNTRY
The country associated with the carrier’s physical location. While most entries are 'US', the field is displayed verbatim from FMCSA data.
Telephone
Export Field: TELEPHONE
The public contact phone number of the carrier. This is sourced from FMCSA records and displayed as-is in DotView.io.
Email Address
Export Field: EMAIL_ADDRESS
The contact email address provided by the carrier in their MCS-150 form. This is pulled directly from FMCSA export and used in site with no formatting changes.
Carrier Status
Export Field: STATUS
Indicates whether the carrier is currently active or inactive according to FMCSA. DotView.io displays this status directly and may use badges or colors to enhance clarity, but the core status value is unmodified.
Fleet Size
Export Field: NBR_POWER_UNIT
Listed as 'NBR_POWER_UNIT' in the FMCSA export, this represents the number of power units (e.g., trucks, tractors) owned, leased, or operated by the carrier. In the DotView.io site, this field is labeled as 'Fleet Size' for clarity.
Drivers
Export Field: DRIVER_TOTAL
The number of drivers reported by the carrier in their MCS-150 form. Labeled as 'DRIVER_TOTAL' in the export, but simplified to 'Drivers' in the site to improve legibility.
Reported Mileage
Export Field: MCS150_MILEAGE
Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) as reported on the carrier’s most recent MCS-150 filing. This number helps determine fleet utilization and safety scores. Presented unchanged in the site.
Mileage Report Year
Export Field: MCS150_MILEAGE_YEAR
The year associated with the mileage value from the MCS-150 form. Used in the site to help contextualize how recent the mileage data is.
Recent Mileage
Export Field: RECENT_MILEAGE
A more current estimate of the carrier’s VMT from FMCSA sources like audits or investigations. Helps provide a fuller picture when MCS-150 data is outdated. Displayed with the year alongside.
Recent Mileage Year
Export Field: RECENT_MILEAGE_YEAR
The year of the most recent mileage data. When shown in the site, this helps users compare the MCS-150 mileage to newer data.
Saved by User
Export Field: IS_SAVED_BY_USER
This field is not from the FMCSA export but added by DotView.io to indicate if a carrier has been saved to a user’s profile or watchlist. Used internally to support user-specific features.
